Hours of Operation
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday 6:00 a.m. -5:30 p.m., Tuesday noon - 4 p.m. Closed on Federal holidays.

Total Fitness Enhancement Programs
Total Fitness enhancement programs include awareness, education, motivation, and intervention for blood pressure, cholesterol, aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, body composition and weight control. All active duty, family members, civilians and retirees are eligible for these programs.

Fitness Classes
Fitness 101 - Do you have questions on how long you should work out? Should you lift weights or how can you lose weight? This one-hour class covers the three basic components of fitness, aerobic, anaerobic, resistance training and stretching.

"WOW" (Women on Weights) - This four-week class is held on a quarterly basis to tech women the myths about women and weight training, learn the basic techniques of strength training, and how to design your own personal program.

ABS and Stretch - This three-week class is held on a quarterly basis to teach you how to do the most effective abdominal exercises that produce results.

Microfit Fitness Evaluations- Body composition, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and aerobic capacity. Recommend you attend the Fitness 101 class first.

Body Fat Analysis - Estimation of body fat percentage via skin-fold, tenita, or circumferential. By appointment only.

Screenings
Cholesterol - Total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol screenings - Friday's 8-10:00 a.m.

Blood Pressure - Blood pressure screening available daily, no appointment necessary.

Wellness Programs
Cholesterol Class - This class is offered through Nutritional Medicine via referral from a health care provider or the Wellness Center staff.

Tobacco Cessation - This eight week one-hour class helps participants "kick the habit" for good. Heavy group discussion as well as information on stress management and weight control.

Stress Management - A five week two-hour class that teaches positive coping skills to manage stress. Not intended as one-on-one counseling. Call the HAWC or 828-5314 to sign up.

Dietary Counseling - Basic diet evaluation on food intake with recommended calories and meal plans for weight control. (By appointment only.)

Healthy Cooking Classes
Healthy Cooking demonstrations will be taught periodically at the Health and Wellness Center. Dates and times will be advertised when available.

Lowdown on Nutrition - A four-week one-hour class that focuses on different areas of nutrition, to include; "Pro's, Carb's, & Fat's" Phenomenon, basic weight loss strategies, and cholesterol reduction through better food choices.

Lean (Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, Nutrition) - This four-week two-hour class is for active duty Air Force members enrolled in the weight management program to assist them in a healthy weight and body fat loss program. Class focuses on exercise, nutrition, stretching techniques, behavior modification and stress management. Volunteers are welcome but must call the Health and Wellness Center to enroll.

Individual Counseling - One-on-one appointments to focus on specific needs regarding fitness, nutrition, weight control and other health issues.

Outreach Programs
Resource Library - The Health and Wellness Center offers a variety of videos and books that can be checked out to assist you in achieving a healthy lifestyle. Please feel free to stop by anytime to check out our resource library.

Fit - Stops - Mobile health screenings composed of blood pressure, body composition, cholesterol, nutritional analysis, massage therapy and general health information are available on Tuesday's from 8 a.m. - noon. Units/Squadrons can make appointments six months prior. This program is designed to seek out, educate and follow-up individuals needing assistance.
