If you are a gadget geek by hobby or profession, the MacDill Technology Exposition, set for April 23, is a must-attend event. More than 35 exhibitors are slated to be on hand, showing off the latest and greatest gear, ranging from IT "green" products, computers and software, telecommunications equipment, intelligence programs and A/V gear to make James Bond flush with excitement.

"It (the Expo) is a great networking and educational tool," said Lacey Livingston, who is the event manager. "It is IT focused, but you don't have to work in IT to get something out of it; there's something for everyone."

The show is important, because it provides a stage for some of the latest innovations in technology across a wide range of applications, from office to field, to aerospace. Often times the gadgets and solutions provide brain food for those military members and DoD civilians in attendance, who may discover applications to help them do their jobs better or more efficiently. Phones, office tools and printers are among the more less exotic items displayed. As in the past, the 6th Communications Squadron will hold the expo, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 at the Surf 's Edge Enlisted Club. It is free to enter. There will be complimentary refreshments and giveaways while supplies last.
