Black History Month Observance

A participant of the Black History Month observation luncheon laughs during a speech at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., Feb. 27, 2020. Every year during the month of February, Black History Month is celebrated with a different theme. This year’s theme is ‘Honoring the past, securing the future,’ as a commemoration of the 75th anniversary of WWII. African Americans played a tremendous role during these times and helped win the freedom each American enjoys today despite the struggles they faced with their own freedom and equality.
