MacDill AFB Photos

The Holidays don't stop our Tanker Thirst

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher Jones, a 6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Communication and Navigation Specialist, verifies that the Mode 4 IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) antenna is working properly before take-off at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., Dec 5, 2018. The Mode 4 IFF system sends out a signal to other aircraft before the pilot can physically see them, letting other pilots know they are a U.S. Air Force aircraft, ensuring a safe arrival to support the joint warfighter.
