Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPR) is a DoD-wide quality of life program for victims of sexual assault crimes that provides the following services:


-- Restricted Reporting: Maintains Confidentiality -- There will NOT be an investigation.

  • Command is NOT notified.

  • Confidentiality is maintained.

  • Report the assault to SARC, VA, sexual assault hotline, the healthcare provider.

  • Medical and counseling services can be utilized while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Sharing your assault information with anyone other than the agencies designated puts your restricted report at risk to be discovered. Talk to a SARC, VA, Chaplain, or healthcare personnel to keep your information Restricted

-- Unrestricted Reporting: INVESTIGATION STARTED - An official investigation will begin by OSI when OSI and command are notified.

  • You may also report the assault to chain of command, OSI, sexual assault hotline, chaplain, or the Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examiner (SAMFE), and health care provider.

  • Medical and counseling services can be utilized while maintaining confidentiality.

    WHAT IS THIRD PARTY REPORTING?

    Independent- Third party reporting. When a victim tells a person their story, and that person tells someone in their chain of command or contacts OSI. There will be an investigation with or without the consent of the victim.

    -- Assign a Victim Advocate who is trained to provide crisis intervention, information and referral of on/off base helping agency services to include support through medical and legal proceedings.

Report A Sexual Assault

Sexually Assaulted The MacDill SAPR office provides a 24-hour, seven-day a week sexual assault response capability for all victims on the installation, and assigned geographically separated units. Anyone who feels they have been a victim of sexual assault may contact the SARC office at 813-828-7272 (SARC).

After you contact the SARC office, you will be assigned a trained Victim Advocate. Your Victim Advocate will explain reporting options, and may meet you at the hospital for a medical evaluation, treatment and examination. It is your option to accept or decline victim advocacy.

Crisis CenterThe Crisis Center's Sexual Assault Services is the certified rape crisis center for Hillsborough County. If you're a victim of sexual assault/rape, contact Sexual Assault Services for support and assistance by dialing 2-1-1.

Services provided through Sexual Assault Services include advocacy, forensic medical exams, and financial and relocation assistance.

What Is Sexual Assault?

Sexual Assault is criminal conduct that falls well short of the standards America expects of its men and women in uniform and is a violation of our Air Force Core Values.

Hurts One. Effects All.Sexual Assault is defined as intentional sexual conduct, characterized by use of force, physical threat or abuse of authority or when the victim does not or cannot consent.

Sexual assault includes rape, nonconsensual sodomy (oral or anal sex), indecent assault (unwanted, inappropriate sexual contact or fondling), or attempts to commit these acts.

Sexual assault can occur without regard to gender or spousal relationship or age of victim.

Consent shall not be deemed or construed to mean the failure by the victim to offer physical resistance. Consent is not given when a person uses force, threat of force, coercion or when the victim is asleep, incapacitated, or unconscious.
