  • Importance of joint operations at MacDill

    MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, has provided support for joint base operations since its establishment in 1939. Joint operations as a whole is important in the workforce due to each branch and base specializing in a certain mission.
  • MacDill to integrate training with Shaw AFB

    Aircrews with the 91st Air Refueling Squadron, maintainers with the 6th Maintenance Group and Airmen with the 6th Operations Support Squadron along with four KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft, are scheduled to travel to Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, at the end of November to conduct an integrated training exercise with the 20th Fighter Wing.

  • MacDill beating the heat with innovation

    It is 5 P.M. and you have been outside on a hot and humid 105-degree day for 12 hours. All you can think about is being able to go inside and feel a cool breeze from the air conditioning unit in your car and house; imagine if you did not have to go inside to stay cool. Aiming to allow military members to work hard in a more comfortable environment, the Personal Cooling System (PCS) provided by Florida-based RINI Technologies keeps Airmen at a cool 72-degrees while being compact enough to wear beneath protective gear and clothing.
  • MacDill welcomes TRANSCOM chief

    U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Jason France, the command senior enlisted leader at U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., visited MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., to tour facilities within the 6th Maintenance Group, 6th Mission Support Group, 6th OG, 50th ARS as well as the Joint Communications Support Element.

  • Doggone bombs: Team MacDill integrates joint force counter-IED training

    The 6th CES/EOD flight held an integrated training with 6th SFS military working dog teams, aeromedical technicians with the 927th Aeromedical Staging Squadron and veterinary technicians with the U.S. Army Public Health Activity, Fort Gordon, MacDill branch, from Dec. 9 to 13, at MacDill Air Force Base, and Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida.

    Team MacDill held a redesignation ceremony commencing the transition of the 6th Air Mobility Wing to the 6th Air Refueling Wing, effective Oct. 1, 2019.
  • SEAC empowers the total enlisted force

    U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. John W. Troxell, senior enlisted advisor to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff visited MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., July 11 to mentor and develop NCOs from across the installation including the joint organizations such as U.S. Special Operations Command and U.S. Central Command.
