Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) are the life force for innovation in our ever-advancing world. Exposing students to STEAM firsthand, drives motivation and inspiration to pursue our increasing need for innovation.
MacDill Air Force Bases' annual STEAM Day does just that. Featuring a wide variety of career fields from 70+ organizations like Animal Sciences of Busch Gardens, USAF Meteorology and the Science of Ice from the Tampa Bay Lightning, to name a few, students receive interactive learning experiences in STEAM careers. More than 1,300 students from 32 schools, including schools from across the country, were able to experience MacDill's most recent STEAM Day. This year, MacDill will be inviting 2,000 students to participate in our largest, most exciting STEAM Day yet!
You can join the excitement by signing up through our information sheet on this website. If you have any questions or need additional information regarding the event, please email Public Affairs at email@example.com or call 813-828-2217. We look forward to seeing you at STEAM Day!
Message from the commander: Col. Stephen P. Snelson
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics remain at the forefront of our ever expanding world. Forty percent of our STEAM-career field experts are nearing retirement age—the future of the Air Force rests in the hands of today’s youth.
MacDill Air Force Base’s STEAM Day gives students an interactive experience in a multitude of career fields for both military and industry partners. The day also showcases local students’ innovative efforts that will transform tomorrow’s workforce.
MacDill’s STEAM Day is one of over 150 Air Force STEAM events conducted every year but MacDill is proud to host the service’s largest.
On behalf of MacDill AFB, I invite you to experience STEAM Day 2019 first hand. I look forward to seeing you there as we work together to inspire STEAM within our youth.
