6th Mission Support Group

Providing civil engineering, communications, contracting, logistics readiness, mission support, security forces, and services.

6th Civil Engineer Squadron
Providing plans, programs, designs, constructs, operations and maintenance of base facilities. Providing explosive ordnance disposal, disaster preparedness and air base operability, environmental quality, fire protection and rescue, and housing services.

Beginning in November, 1999, we began converting the 6th Civil Engineering Squadron to contractor operation, with Chugach Management Services, Inc. serving as the prime contractor, and Del-Gen, Inc. the prime subcontractor to Chugach.

6th Communications Squadron
Provide world class communications, airfield, multimedia, & conference support to the 6 ARW, two combatant commands, and 49 other mission partners while training and equipping communications professionals to support deployments worldwide

6th Contracting Squadron
Provide $500 million in contracting support to the 6th Air Refueling Wing, US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), US Central Command (CENTCOM), Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE), and 48 other Mission Partners. Support includes procurement of complex computer equipment, supplies, construction, services, and utilities to maintain combat readiness and sustainability worldwide.

Contracting Flights
Specialized Flight - Commodity and IT purchases, US Central Command, US Special Operations Command and Joint Communication Support Element support.

Plans and Programs Flight - Computer operations, LAN management, IMPAC program and QAE program.

Base Support Flight - Large and small services construction.

Performance Management Flight - Base and civil engineering support services.

6th Logistics Readiness Squadron
A proud team of professionals providing quality logistical support to sustain the worldwide mission of the 6th Air Refueling Wing, two war-fighting commands and 51 Mission Partners.

6th Force Support Squadron
Providing civil engineering, communications, contracting, logistics readiness, security forces, and force support. We also provide customer and family support for more than 11,000 dependents and 200,000 retirees and their families. The Force Support Squadron is the combination of our former Mission Support and Services Squadrons which merged in Nov 2008.


6th Security Forces Squadron
Highly qualified and diverse team of professionals providing first class police and support services.

MacDill AFB Gate Operation Information

In an effort to expedite processing at all gates, drivers must lower their front and rear windows, and collect IDs/credentials from ALL passengers BEFORE approaching the gate.

NOTE: Due to security operations and gate maintenance, gate operating times and closures can occur at any time.

Normal Gate Hours of Operation

Dale Mabry Gate

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Commercial Lane: 3 p.m. - 5:30 a.m. Monday - Friday& all day on weekends

After hours visitor passes will be issued at Dale Mabry Gate only

 

Bayshore Gate

Monday - Friday: 5:15 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Saturday - Sunday: 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

 

Tanker Way Gate (Port Tampa commercial vehicle gate)

*POV traffic* Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 9 a.m.

*Commercial vehicle traffic* Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.

NOTE: ALL commercial drivers must use Tanker Way Gate during operating hours.

 

MacDill Gate

*Inbound traffic only*  Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 8 a.m.

*Outbound traffic only*  Monday - Friday: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Requirements

All vehicle passengers are required to present a picture ID (valid driver’s license, passport, etc.)

If individual is a resident to the country, residency card and social security card must be provided in addition to a valid photo ID

Vehicle drivers must present proof of valid insurance and vehicle registration.

Fleet vehicle: The vehicle is identified by the plates, which shall be of a distinctive color; have the word "Fleet" appearing at the bottom and the word "Florida" appearing at the top. Fleet vehicles are not required to have vehicle registration, but must have proof of insurance.

Personnel must present a bill of lading, invoice, work order, or service call contract, etc., and Point of Contact (POC).
