Know your Zone! Are you hurricane-ready? Knowing your evacuation zone is crucial for hurricane preparedness, as these zones (A–E) mark flood-prone, low-lying areas, mobile homes, or unsafe structures most likely to evacuate during a storm, with Zone A being the most vulnerable and Zone E the least. Visit https://www.floridadisaster.org/knowyourzone/ to look up your address and find your zone, ensuring you’re ready for evacuation orders from local officials. If your zone isn’t ordered to evacuate, consider sheltering in place, but confirm your home can withstand strong winds and heavy rain. Check your zone today using Florida’s Know Your Zone Map, stay prepared, and follow local guidance for a safe hurricane season!

Are you REAL ID ready?

Starting MAY 7, 2025, to board domestic flights and access certain federal and DOD facilities, your driver’s license or state issued ID must be a REAL ID — or you’ll need another acceptable form of identification. REAL ID compliant driver’s license or state issued ID cards will have one of the following markings on the upper top portion of the card. If the card does not have one of these markings, it is not a REAL ID and will not be accepted to board commercial aircraft or access certain federal and DOD facilities. Fight the Flu

Cold and flu season is here again. According to the World Health Organization, there are around a billion cases of seasonal influenza annually. Symptoms typically present 1-4 days after infection and usually last about a week. According to the American Lung Association, influenza is a highly contagious respiratory infection while common colds are usually minor infections of the nose and throat caused by more than 200 viruses. Some key flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches, fatigue, and vomiting. Both are highly contagious, so here are some ways to make sure you are your healthiest self this cold and flu season!

Being resilient: Air University’s RTF promotes well-being for all service members

In September 2022, the Department of the Air Force unveiled the Spectrum of Resilience to provide a comprehensive listing of available support options for military members and their families. In 2018, Air University established the Resilience Research Task Force involving students from Air Command and Staff College and Air War College. The task force now includes students at Squadron Officer School, which offers it as an advanced research elective, and is sponsored by the office of Air Force Integrated Resilience.
