MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The MacDill Family Health Clinic has added a walk-in service for its assigned patients to assist with immediate care for cough, cold, and flu-like symptoms. You can also be seen for pregnancy testing, sore throat, urinary track infection symptoms, and previously ordered injections without an appointment. The Cough and Cold (C2) Clinic is offered during normal duty days, 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis.
MacDill Family Health implemented a Nurse, Technician and Pharm-D Team to evaluate symptoms, recommend treatment and provide medications to get you feeling better faster! Patients that are evaluated and determined to have more than a mild cough or cold will be walked-in to a provider for higher-level care that may include laboratory testing, radiological examinations or antibiotic therapy. Please note that the C2 Clinic is not currently offered at the Brandon Clinic.
Patients requiring services that are not provided on a walk-in basis will be asked to contact the appointment line (827-CARE), send a message to their primary care team or use TRICARE Online to book an appointment with their Primary Care Manager.
Please note that the Nurse, Technician and Pharm-D Team is not authorized to provide quarters for active duty personnel. Instead, we will provide a memorandum to the individual so their supervisor is aware that they were evaluated at the clinic. The memorandum will provide additional information regarding Air Force Instruction 41-210, TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration, which allows commanders and supervisors to grant 24 hours of sick status at their discretion.
These services are open to all enrolled patients at MacDill Family Health regardless of beneficiary status (active duty, retired, active duty dependents, and retired dependents) and is a great alternative to Urgent Care Clinic co-pays.
