The members of the Quantum Leap Farm at Odessa, Fla., opened their gates to MacDill active duty servicemembers and their families to relax at a fun day event held Saturday, June 27.

The farm, a nonprofit organization founded in 2000 provides therapeutic and recreational horseback riding program for veterans, civilian adults, and kids with mental and physical disabilities.

"It was a great opportunity to spend time and bond with my children," Lt. Col. David Mount, U.S. Central Command fun day participant.

This was the first time the farm had ever hosted an event inviting MacDill servicemembers to participate. All the planning and coordinating was made through both the Rays Wives Club and the MacDill Airman and Family Readiness Center, in an effort to show local support toward the military.

The 180 participants enjoyed horseback riding, hay rides, horse painting, bobbing for apples, art and crafts, and a water slide. All the attendants were also allowed to pet and play with the animals on the farm.

It was a day of activities for military families to relax and focus on their families.
