Safety, readiness from Eagle Eyes template Published Aug. 23, 2012 By Thunderbolt staff report 6th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Though there are no specific threats to MacDill Air Force Base, the principles of "readiness" dictate that service members and MacDill personnel be alert and aware of their surroundings during the period of heightened political activity related to the political convention in Tampa next week. While conceived as an anti-terrorism program, Air Force Eagle Eyes provides a template for Airmen and MacDill personnel, who can serve as eyes and ears during the convention week to watch, report and protect the base from possible security threats. Any of the suspicious activities detailed in the adjoining Eagle Eyes article, or politically inspired threats that could impact MacDill security, should be reported by calling 911 and asking for MacDill police. Callers also can contact the Base Defense Operations Center directly at 828-3322.
