2nd Quarter Disciplinary Actions

During the last quarter, the MacDill Legal Office, 6th Air Mobility Wing judge advocate, conducted a Summary Court-Martial, processed 24 non judicial punishment actions under Article 15, Uniformed Code of Military Justice, and processed 11 discharges. These disciplinary actions involved service members in the 6th Air Mobility Wing and associated units at MacDill Air Force Base. Offenses included wrongful sexual contact, assault, driving under the influence, false official statements and failure to go, failure to obey a lawful order, disorderly conduct and discredit to service, dereliction of duty, drug abuse, and minor disciplinary infractions.

Summary Court-Martial

An airman first class from the 6th Maintenance Squadron was found guilty by Summary Court-Martial of two counts of wrongful sexual contact. The Airman was sentenced to a reduction in grade to airman basic, 30 days confinement and was discharged.

Article 15s for Assault

A technical sergeant from the 6th Contracting Squadron received an Article 15 for assaulting an airman first class by striking the Airman in the chest with broken glass and by striking the Airman's body with a belt. The technical sergeant also contacted the Airman in direct violation of a no-contact order. The technical sergeant's punishment consisted of a reduction to staff sergeant, forfeiture of $1,497.00 pay, 45 days of extra duty, and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 6th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for assaulting an individual by pushing the individual into a car door and squeezing the individual's hand. The senior airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman basic.

Article 15s for Driving Under the Influence

A senior airman from the 6th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. The senior airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman basic, a reprimand and a discharge.

A senior airman from the 6th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol, being drunk on duty, and failure to deploy with the Airman's unit. The senior airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman basic, restriction to MacDill Air Force Base for 23 days, 22 days of extra duty, a reprimand, and a discharge.

An airman first class from the 6th Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for drinking and driving. The Airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman basic, restriction to MacDill Air Force Base for 14 days, 14 days of extra duty, and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 6th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for failing to show up to work, driving under the influence of alcohol, and being drunk while on duty. The Airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman basic, a reprimand and a discharge.

Article 15s for False Official Statements and Failure to Go

A staff sergeant from the 6th Communications Squadron received an Article 15 for lying to the housing office in order to receive permission for a discharged service member to reside in the sergeant's on-base residence. The sergeant's punishment consisted of a reduction to senior airman and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 6th Communication Squadron received an Article 15 for failing to report to duty on three separate occasions and for lying about the airman's location during the day. The airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman first class, suspended forfeitures of $990.00 pay, and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 6th Dental Squadron received an Article 15 for lying to a master sergeant when questioned about checks written to the staff sergeant's landlord. The staff sergeant's punishment consisted of a reduction to senior airman and a reprimand.

Article 15s for Failure to Obey a Lawful Order

A staff sergeant from U.S. Central Command received an Article 15 for displaying sexually explicit and sexually oriented material on a government computer, in direct violation of a general regulation, and for lying to the investigating officer. The staff sergeant's punishment included a reduction to senior airman and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 6th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for contacting another airman first class, in direct violation of a no-contact order. The senior airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to the grade of airman basic and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron received an Article 15 for failing to correct the airman's hairstyle, in direct violation of the order given by the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge. The senior airman's punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to airman first class, forfeiture of $462.00 pay, and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 6th Comptroller Squadron received an Article 15 for disrespecting the airman's superior commissioned officer; throwing away his medication, in direct violation of the commander's order; and lying to the commander about receiving medications. The senior airman's punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to airman first class, forfeiture of $990.00 pay per month for 2 months, and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron received an Article 15 for failing to have the airman's driver's license properly endorsed to operate a motorcycle, and for operating the airman's motorcycle off base in direct violation of a superior's order. The airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to the grade of airman and a reprimand.

The senior airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman first class with a suspended reduction to airman basic and a reprimand.

A senior airman from the 6th Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for presenting a false letter to the airman's housing office, which stated that the airman was going to be deploying. The airman's punishment consisted of a suspended reduction to airman first class, suspended 30 days of extra duty, and a reprimand.

Article 15s for Dereliction of Duty

An airman first class from the 6th Operations Group received an Article 15 for failing to complete an internal training briefing. The airman received a suspended reduction to the grade of airman and a reprimand.

A master sergeant from the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron received an Article 15 for damaging and failing to maintain government quarters in a manner conducive to good health, cleanliness, safety, orderliness, and décor. The sergeant further failed to complete a semi-annual inspection and other associated tasks. The sergeant's punishment consisted of a reduction to technical sergeant and a reprimand.

Article 15s for Drug Abuse

A senior airman from the 6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for using marijuana. The airman received a reduction to airman basic and a reprimand, and was processed for discharge.

A technical sergeant from U.S. Special Operations Command received an Article 15 for using marijuana. The sergeant's received a reduction to staff sergeant, a reprimand, and was processed for discharge.

A senior airman from the 6th Medical Operations Squadron received an Article 15 for using marijuana. The airman's punishment consisted of a reduction to airman basic, and was processed for discharge.

Discharges

An airman first class from the 6th Operations Support Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. The member received an Article 15 for cocaine use, a reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand. The Airman had a history of three LORs, and two LOCs.

A senior airman from the 6th Security Forces Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. This member had received an Article 15, one LOR, and one LOC.

An airman first class from the 6th Operations Support Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for drug abuse.

An airman first class from the 6th Operations Support Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. This member had received an Article 15, four LORs, and two LOCs.

A senior airman from the 6th Security Forces Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. This member had received two Article 15s and one LOC.

A senior airman from the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for drug abuse - using dextroamphetamine, also known as "go pills." The airman's punishment also included a reduction from staff sergeant to senior airman, and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. This member had received an Article 15, four LORs, one LOA, and two LOCs.

An airman basic from the 6th Security Forces Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for drug abuse.

An airman first class from the 6th Communications Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. This member had received an Article 15, four LORs, and one LOC.

An airman from the 91st Air Refueling Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. This member had received two Article 15s.

A senior airman from the 6th Communications Squadron was involuntarily discharged with an Under Honorable Conditions (General) characterization for minor disciplinary infractions. This member had three Article 15s.
