LEAD (Leaders Encouraging Airmen Development) basic eligibility: Age, be at least 17 and have not passed age 22 for LEAD and 23 for the USAFA, as of 1 July the year they enter the Academy; Be a US Citizen; Tenure in the AF does not to exceed 6 years at time of Academy admission; Unmarried; No dependents, and meet specific medical standards for a commission in the USAF. The Nurse Enlisted Commissioning Program (NECP) offers active duty enlisted personnel the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree in a high demand academic major. NECP students complete their degree at a college/university with an AFROTC detachment or one that has a "cross-town agreement" with the school. (No on-line degree programs will be accepted.)

Suspense dates:
- for notification of intent to apply: Feb. 28, 2011 
- for submission of transcripts for academic evaluation: March 21, 2011
- for the submission of the Chief Nurse Interview: April 8, 2011
- for submitting completed application: April 25, 2011
The selection board is tentatively scheduled for May 9-13, 2011
