Giving back to those who have served is what Nov. 13 is all about.

MacDill's Retiree Appreciation day is scheduled for Nov. 13 and services and events are scheduled throughout the day.

Col. Lenny Richoux, 6th Air Mobility Wing commander, invites all retirees of all service branches to this event filled day. "Please come join us on this informative and event-filled day which will give retirees, dependants and surviving spouses the opportunity to update their knowledge regarding benefits and entitlements."

Attendees can visit the Retiree Activities Office building and information booth located in the Base Exchange food court from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for information regarding veterans and survivor benefits, legal assistance, Space-A travel and more.

Some of the events offered include: complimentary health screenings, pay record review, will makings, and I.D. card renewal. "A new feature this year is the Defense Biometric Identification system and I.D. Card registration," said Colonel Richoux. "Representatives from the 6th Security Forces Squadron will be present to introduce DBIDS and to register I.D. cards for retirees and dependants."

Also available is a pay-as-you-go brunch at the dining facility and discounts at the Base Exchange and Commissary.

This is a day to thank the veterans. "Thank you for your service and dedication," said Colonel Richoux. "We hope you are able to join us for this special day."
