MacDill NCO returns to perform with Tops In Blue Published Oct. 23, 2009 By Senior Airman Tania Reid 6th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- When Staff Sgt. Aisha Smith enlisted in the U.S. Air Force she dreamed she would be able to travel but when she got accepted to perform as Tops In Blue member her dreams took flight. Sergeant Smith a public health craftsman with the 6th Medical Group, will be returning to perform in this free, family friendly event at the Ford Amphitheatre Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. for the first time as a member of the Tops in Blue. "I'm looking forward to coming to Tampa," said Sergeant Smith. "The tour is a yearlong so it will be the first time since I've been a member that I've been to MacDill." The group will be performing a variety of music genres ranging from Rhythm and Blues, Pop, Country, Motown music and more. "Our theme for this year's tour will be "To Dream" and it will highlight making dreams happen," she said. "It is especially meaningful to me because joining Tops In Blue was a dream of mine. I didn't make it the first time but I tried again and made the team." Tops In Blue is an elite group composed of35 of the most talented vocalists, musicians, dancers, comedians, magicians, and dramatists worldwide. Known as the Air Forces' Expeditionary Entertainers, the group's main mission is to perform for military personnel and their families throughout the world. The enormous popularity of the group has also made them America's goodwill ambassadors around the globe. "We are looking forward to performing and helping to bring a smile to the faces of our audience," said Sergeant Smith. "I am excited to return to Team MacDill and thank them for their support."
