The Operation Cookie Drop 2015 brought the sweet taste of home to dorm residents at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, Dec. 8, 2015.

"The cookie drop was officially sponsored by the MacDill Officer's Spouses' Club and the MacDill Enlisted Spouses Club," said Holly Tulley, a member of the MOSC. "However, the entire MacDill community contributed cookies and volunteered manpower!"

Approximately 4,560 homemade cookies, such as the classic chocolate chip and peanut butter blossom, were donated at designated pickup locations around the base on Dec. 7th.

On Dec. 8th from 8 a.m. to noon, about 30 volunteers helped package the cookies in the base chapel annex.

A plate of 12 assorted cookies was prepared for each dorm resident, and cards from families wishing the service member a happy holiday were included in the bundle.

Once all the cookies were wrapped and tied with ribbon, they were personally delivered to the young military members' office or dorm room by their respective first sergeant.

"It's a great way to bring a little bit of home to our dorm residents and let them know their community is thinking of them especially during the Holiday Season," said Tulley.
