U.S. Central Command's senior national military representatives elected Danish Brig. Gen. Frank Lissner to succeed Swedish Rear Adm. Mats Fogelmark as chairman of the Coalition at Headquarters USCENTCOM April 30, 2014.

Lissner, a 38-year veteran of the Danish Army, came to the USCENTCOM Coalition in August 2013, having recently served as commander of the Territorial Defense Region - Zeeland. As chairman of the coalition, Lissner is responsible for addressing all matters regarding the senior national representatives to the correct departments within USCENTCOM.

"I look forward to working with military from other countries," said Lissner. "One of my goals is to ensure the coalition remains relevant post Operation Enduring Freedom and continue to enhance the relationship between countries represented here."

Fogelmark, a 32-year veteran of the Swedish Armed Forces, will depart USCENTCOM later this year to take on his next challenge as the defense attaché to the Swedish embassies in China and North Korea.

"I'll remember my time here at USCENTCOM as one of the most rewarding during my career and I appreciate all the hard work my coworkers within the coalition and U.S. forces did," he said. "MacDill and the Tampa community have been a great place for me and my family and we will miss Florida."
