Airmen from Team MacDill had an opportunity to engage with the Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody during his visit to the base, Feb. 19, 2014.

During his visit, Cody visited an NCO professional enhancement course, met with first sergeants and hosted an Airmen's Call. He also toured the base and interacted with Airmen to listen to their concerns and answer their questions.

Cody opened the Airmen's Call to questions; two topics sparked the most interest: the new enlisted performance reports and force management.

He stressed the importance of communication during the force management programs, saying Airmen need to be fully informed and understand the options available, and offered hope to many Airmen concerned about their future.

"There are a tremendous amount of opportunities for those who we are unable to keep on active duty, with the reserve component. If that's not a viable option, then, you will be bringing something valuable to the civilian workforce," stated Cody. "So don't ever cut yourself short about what you think the future holds."

Cody also spent a large portion of the time talking about the upcoming changes to feedbacks and performance reports.

"It's a big change. Airmen are going to know how they rack and stack with the new enlisted performance report," stated Cody.

Cody closed by expressing his gratitude to the Airmen and their families and thanked them for all they do for the Air Force.

"Don't lose sight of what it means to be Airman," said Cody. "Make no mistake about the impact you have around the world, what you do for our nation, for the Air Force and how critical that is and how much it is appreciated."
