MacDill Air Force Base presents the Tampa Bay Airfest 2014 is just around the corner and Team MacDill is working around the clock to prepare for the Air Force Thunderbirds and other aerobatic performers.

On March 22nd and 23rd, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., will open its gates to the public and host one of the largest military air shows in Florida.

This year, the Air Force Thunderbirds will be the headlining aerial demonstration team, with the tight formations and loud roar, onlookers won't be able to take their eyes off these acrobatic wonders. Flying demonstrations will feature current military aircraft, military war birds and civilian aerobatic performers, making the air show one of the most awaited events of the year.

In addition, heaps of military aircraft and equipment will inhabit MacDill's flight line. Various groups representing military organizations, local law enforcement and demonstrations from other services will be there to showcase their mission. This allows MacDill to highlight military missions and its capabilities to the community.

The Tampa Bay community generously teamed up with MacDill to ensure a remarkable Air Fest.

MacDill is one of just six bases that the Air Force Thunderbirds will perform at this year, and expected attendance will be in excess of 200,000 visitors over the weekend.

"These two days in March provide the only opportunity to openly welcome and say thank you to all of the great people in the Tampa Bay and surrounding communities," stated Maj. John Schwartz, 927th Air Refueling Wing deputy director of MacDill AFB presents Tampa Bay AirFest.
