    The world of medicine has proven that a healthy lifestyle combined with disease prevention can help avoid many illnesses. According to American College of Preventive Medicine, the goal of preventive medicine is to “protect, promote, and maintain health and well-being and to prevent disease, disability, and death.” Aside from taking care of the medical needs of our patients, our mission here in the 6th Medical Group is to promote disease prevention and educate our patients regarding the resources available to them. Our clinic has several programs that patients can utilize to achieve their optimum health, which include health screenings, testing, and immunizations. During wellness visits, our medical staff reminds patients if they are due for any health screenings.

  • 6th MDG expands footprint, full spectrum readiness

    MacDill's satellite clinic, currently located in Brandon, Florida, is relocating to better serve the 95,258 joint service members, families and retirees who call the Tampa Bay area home. The clinic moves to 9210 King Palm Dr., Tampa this April. The Brandon clinic serves approximately 750 customers on its own and fills more than 2,000 prescriptions weekly, lessening demand for MacDill's on-site clinic. This option has been a popular alternative for beneficiaries who live in the surrounding area such as Brandon and Riverview, but has not grown to keep pace with the demand.
