Last week marked the kickoff of the holiday party season around MacDill. All over the base and within housing, I am observing holiday lights and festive gatherings. Our Coalition Partners also sponsored their annual Coalition International Night, which was well-attended and received glowing praise. We are fortunate to host a variety of senior leaders from nations that partner with the U.S. military. I am glad you are here in Tampa with us!

The 6th Air Mobility Wing also graduated our newest group of Non-Commissioned Officers from Airman Leadership School. Following graduation, the class celebrated their achievement at the University Club in Tampa, sponsored by local business leaders. I can't thank the people of Tampa enough for their support of our people and our mission!
On Tuesday, I flew a local KC-135 air refueling training sortie with our 91st Air Refueling Squadron. It's always good to get out and "do the mission" with our operators. We refueled two C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft from Charleston Air Force Base. At 27,000 feet and 400 miles per hour, we performed an aerial ballet that demonstrates why America's military is the greatest in the world -- it's our people, their commitment, professionalism, and training. You make me proud!

I'm not the only one that recognizes your dedication. Our equal opportunity office won the Col. Joseph Brown award - the Equal Opportunity Program of the Year for the Air Mobility Command.

The 6th Force Support Squadron also took home some awards - Airman and Family Readiness Program of the Year, Fitness and Sports Program of the Year, Nathan Altschuler Outstanding Education and Training Program, and Professional Development Program of the Year.

Not only are our units coming in strong, but so are the individual awards, Master Sgt. Marcus Watson, Force Support Senior NCO of the Year, and Senior Airman Brian Brockhoff, Force Support Airman of the Year. Congratulations to you all. Keep up the great work.

A special shout out goes to Senior Airman Steven Arthur, 6th Communications Squadron Enterprise Information manager and Crisis Action Team member, received the Air Mobility Command Outstanding Knowledge Operations Management award for migrating 24 gigabytes of data to SharePoint. He also prepped records for electronic records management delivering access to 19,000 members. In addition, he led SharePoint training for eight teams increasing efficiency by 87 percent.

Thank you team MacDill for another great week in Tampa! Happy Holidays!
