At MacDill, the Loan Locker is offered by the Airman and Family Readiness Center to help ease the transition of active duty personnel, Department of Defense civilians and their families who may be experiencing a permanent change of station or retirement.

A PCS or retirement can be exciting, but it can also potentially be one of the more stressful things an individual and their family can experience during their military career. Household items and other prized possessions have to be packed and shipped, and it can be a trial trying to identify what may need to be held back for further use.

Fortunately, the AFRC assists families by providing temporary household items during relocations. The Loan Locker contains numerous items varying from car seats and strollers, to dishes and televisions.

These items can be checked out free of charge upon presentation of PCS/retirement orders showing assignment to or being serviced by MacDill or outbound orders from MacDill or being serviced by MacDill.

The normal checkout duration is 30 days for Continental United States (CONUS), and 60 days for outside Continental United States (OCONUS).

The AFRC is located at 8105 Condor St., and hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-4p.m.
