SERE Training
Captain Breanna McNair, 91st Air Refueling Squadron instructor pilot, practices self defense techniques during Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape training at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., June 22, 2011. SERE training is a requirement for all aircrew members. This requirement was derived from the lessons learned and experiences of those held as POWs in the jungle camps of Vietnam. Their focus of survival is now the focus of SERE training which is to "Survive and Return with Honor." (U.S. Air Force photo by: Staff Sgt. Angela Ruiz)
