SERE Training

Staff Sgt. Roger Zehr II, 6th Operations Support Squadron non-commissioned officer in charge of Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape, demonstrates to students self defenses techniques during SERE training class at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., June 22, 2011. SERE training is a requirement for all aircrew members. This requirement was derived from the lessons learned and experiences of those held as POWs in the jungle camps of Vietnam. Their focus of survival is now the focus of SERE training which is to "Survive and Return with Honor." (U.S. Air Force photo by: Staff Sgt. Angela Ruiz)
