Airman 1st Class John Marcum, a Tactical Air Control Party Member with the 19th Air Support Operations Squadron at Fort Campbell, KY, prepares a flare launcher used to simulate heavy machine gun fire during Atlantic Strike VI in the Avon Park Military Training Complex in Avon Park, Fla. Airman Marcum and his team rig ground-based pyrotechnics used to add realism and feedback to aircrews and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers during urban close air support operations.
