MacDill tests Bak-12 Aircraft Arresting System for annual certification

A member of the 6th Civil Engineer Squadron evaluates a QF-16 Fighting Falcon following the annual certification of the Bak-12 aircraft arresting system at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, Dec. 12, 2024. The test ensures the stability of the AAS hydraulics when catching an aircraft. The pin connecting the hook that catches the AAS must be replaced after each use.
