A student from Richard O. Jacobson Technical High School plants a salt meadow cordgrass pod on the shore of MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, April 10, 2025. Students from Jacobson Tech planted more than 400 cordgrass pods on the shore of the installation. Salt meadow cordgrass is strong enough to withstand the rise and fall of the tides on the installation’s shorelines, and was planted to provide another layer of strength to MacDill’s beaches.
