MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. --
In preparation for Hurricane Irma, there are numerous local school closures.
Hillsborough County Public Schools will close all schools and district offices on Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8.
Polk County Public schools and district offices in will be closed on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 in response to Hurricane Irma.
Pinellas County Schools will be closed Thursday Sept. 7 and Friday Sep. 8. All school-related activities are cancelled.
Pasco County schools will be closed on Friday. All sports and extracurricular activities are canceled for Friday and over the weekend.
Manatee County commissioners declared a local state of emergency today, which would get resources, including Manatee school scheduling, in place for the storm. Schools will be open Thursday, but closed Friday.
Hernando County schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.
Citrus County officials are monitoring the situation.
