USTRANSCOM commander visits Team MacDill

The commander of U.S. Transportation Command, U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Lyons, visited MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Feb. 8, 2019, to meet the innovative Airmen who generate airlift and aerial refueling capabilities.

As USTRANSCOM commander, Lyons leads an enterprise of more than 144,000 logistics and transportation professionals responsible for delivering globally-integrated mobility, deployment and distribution solutions and enabling capabilities for full-spectrum requirements in support of national objectives.

Lyons visited the 6th Air Mobility Wing, Joint Communications Support Element, U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command.

During his visit to the 6th AMW, Lyons discussed mission-readiness, engaged with Airmen and learned about KC-135 Stratotanker operations. Additionally, Lyons presented his coin to several Airmen, recognizing them for their outstanding leadership and performance.
