MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Team MacDill hosted its annual Retiree Appreciation Day, Feb. 8, 2018, by providing unmatched installation support to any retiree with base access.
The 6th Medical Group welcomed retirees of all military branches to their clinic lobby, where various on-base agencies provided informational booths.
Representatives from public health, mental health, dental, as well as the health and wellness center, offered their services. These included oral hygiene information, blood pressure screenings and nutritional information.
“Today was meant to showcase the many different agencies and entitlements retirees have while on base,” said Staff Sgt. Ira Coe Jr., the NCO in charge of the community health element assigned to the 6th Aerospace Medicine Squadron. “No matter when the individual retired, their service is important to us, and it’s a day for us to give back to them.”
Not only did retirees find information at the 6th MDG clinic, but the 6th Air Mobility Wing legal office offered free wills. Additionally, the 6th Force Support Squadron enabled retirees to renew their I.D. cards.
During the event, Col. Troy Pananon, the vice commander of the 6th AMW, thanked those in attendance and the support agencies who provided unmatched installation support.
“Today is a small token of appreciation for our retirees,” said Pananon. “We honor your service and thank you for your sacrifices.”
