  • 6th ARW exercises rapid global mobility during ORE

    Mobility Airmen from the 6th Air Refueling Wing demonstrated their readiness to deploy forces and equipment to deliver rapid global mobility in a moment’s notice during an operational readiness exercise conducted Jan. 11-22.

    The 6th Air Refueling Wing, working hard to ensure we are able to fulfill our mission goals, just completed a generation exercise. This was aimed to demonstrate our capability to perform our duties and deliver global mobility readiness, even during a global pandemic.
  • MacDill Total Force team successfully conducts readiness exercise

    Mobility Airmen from the 6th and 927th Air Refueling Wings participated in a joint readiness exercise here Aug. 26-28, 2020. The exercise tested Team MacDill’s ability to rapidly deploy and conduct air-refueling operations while complying with real-world COVID-19 pandemic countermeasures. Through robust and relevant training, the exercise is designed to build readiness and develop Mobility Airmen to ensure they deliver rapid global mobility now and in the future.
  • Operation Open Horizon: 6th CONS & CPTS maintain readiness

    The 6th Contracting Squadron partnered with the 6th Comptroller Squadron to develop the first-ever Operation Open Horizon training exercise at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, April 15-19, 2019.
  • Team MacDill executes total force readiness exercise

    The 6th Air Mobility Wing and the 927th Air Refueling Wing conducted a readiness exercise here Feb. 8-10. The total force team was tasked to simulate a short-notice deployment, testing its ability to rapidly deploy cargo and personnel, and expeditiously launch aircraft during a 72-hour training scenario.
  • EX Cobb Ring: Enhancing joint, bilateral interoperability

    Members of the Joint Communications Support Element from MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, participated in the annual Cobb Ring exercise Jan. 21 to Feb. 1, 2019, alongside the British Army’s 30th Signal Regiment, to demonstrate capabilities with coalition partners and strengthen relationships between the two nations.
  • MacDill uses Emergency Management exercise to maintain readiness

    On Sept. 13, 2016, personnel from various 6th Air Mobility Wing (AMW) agencies around MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, participated in an Emergency Management Exercise. The exercise simulated a fuel spill that resulted from a vehicle accident.
