MacDill after dark: EOD, 6th SFS use NVGs for first-time joint training
The 6th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal team and the 6th Security Forces Squadron military working dog team often use training exercises to always be prepared for any challenges that they may encounter with improvised explosive devices. During the Oct. 20 training exercise, six EOD technicians and three military working dog handlers trained on their NVG proficiency while four EOD team leaders and one MWD team leader provided training oversight and evaluation.

MacDill’s EOD supports ATF in federal case
The 6th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight assigned to MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, led a joint disposal operation along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), at the Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida, Sept. 8-11, 2019.

Here comes the boom! MacDill's EOD team instructs community law enforcement
Handling bombs is risky business, but what makes bombs even more dangerous is the variety between explosives. Fortunately, identifying explosives is a specialty of the 6th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight. For the first time ever, MacDill’s EOD team invited the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office, Tampa Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s bomb technicians to participate in a joint-classroom discussion on how to properly identify different types of military unexploded ordnance.

6th MSG: “Ready to take the fight to the enemy”
The 6th Mission Support Group completed a two-day deployment readiness exercise for 233 Airmen across six squadrons, July 24 and 25, at MacDill Air Force Base. During training, five stations were set up to teach Airmen combat survival skills as well as simulate real-life scenarios they could expect to see while deployed.

Joint, total force enhances MacDill EOD training
For the first time, the 6th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. used its semiannual training exercise as a foundation to become something more. The 927th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Joint Communication Support Element and the U.S. Army’s 5th General Support Aviation Battalion from Clearwater, Fla. joined the EOD team for a joint, total force training exercise, July 2, 2018.
