On Dec. 6, 2021, the 6th Force Support Squadron unveiled its new Exceptional Family Member Program webpage.

MacDill AFB supports over 1,000 EFMP family members in Tampa Bay and surrounding areas; making it one of the largest EFMP support areas in the Air Force with respect to size and diversity.

Accordingly, Lt. Col. Mike Lupher, 6th FSS commander says “Access to clear and easy-to-understand information should not be limited to a physical location, time of day, or availability of a single subject matter expert…it should be on demand 24/7. This virtual ‘One Stop’ webpage is designed as an organized support platform to both empower and readily meet the needs of EFMP families—via the web or any mobile-enabled device.”

Within the webpage, families requiring EFMP support can find succinct guidance, information and resources offered by MacDill’s EFMP agencies; including medical, family support and assignments. This is intended to provide clarity, improve communication and streamline access to the support services families such as respite care, enrollment, education support, events, and much more.

From identifying the criteria of what’s considered a special need, to specifying what medical, family and education support services are available and even providing an overview of Permanent Change of Station processes, the webpage will enable MacDill’s EFMP Team to better assist DoD ID cardholders of all branches of service.
