MacDill team member Frederick Fallman, Deputy Director of the 6th Mission Support Group, was awarded the Air Force Association Outstanding Civilian of the Year for the GS-14 and GS-15 category at the Air, Space and Cyber Conference in National Harbor, Md., Sept. 17, 2018.

Fallman was recognized at the Air Force level for his outstanding efforts throughout 2017 as the 6th MSG Deputy Director, leading 2,200 personnel in six diverse squadrons. Under his directive, the 6th MSG provides installation and mission support to two wings, U.S. Special Operations Command, U.S. Central Command and 31 tenant units encompassing MacDill.

Fallman’s most noted achievement came from planning and executing 12 site activation task force projects to gain eight additional KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft. With a $17 million value, the projects increased MacDill's aircraft fleet by 33 percent and supported more than 300 new personnel.

When Hurricane Irma ravaged the Gulf Coast of Florida in Sept. 2017, Fallman directed the MSG response for a seamless base transition from recovery to reception, identifying $13 million in storm damages and designing plans to recoup.

Fallman’s resume extends beyond his personal achievements to those he leads. Fallman directed five Air Force, 20 Air Mobility Command and 35 wing-level award winners, as well as AMC’s best Contracting and Security Forces squadrons.

This Airman's win is a hard-earned reflection of his efforts each and every day. Fallman's dedication to unmatched mission support represents the capabilities of all MacDill Airmen.
