    The 91st Air Refueling Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, was awarded the Gen. Carl A. Spaatz Trophy for distinguishing itself through exceptionally meritorious service from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2016.
  • 6th Medical Group exercises aeromedical evacuations

    An Airmen screams out in pain due to a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Grass flies through the air as the HH-60 Black Hawk helicopter approaches it’s landing zone. The injured Airman is securely strapped to a litter by a medical technician and rushed to the helicopter for rapid transport.
  • Former commander offers Airmen wisdom, encourages excellence

    The 6th Air Mobility Wing welcomed a previous wing commander to base Feb. 2-3, 2017. The now brigadier general visited the 6th AMW on behalf of the 18th Air Force Commander and served as guest speaker for the wing’s annual awards ceremony. He met with many Airmen and offered professional mentoring and saw how the wing’s operations have changed since leaving the Sunshine State.
  • Team MacDill mentors Sarasota emergency response leaders

    The partnerships established outside of an organization can strengthen it just as much as those within. To further extend its reach into the community, Team MacDill hosted members of the Sarasota County Emergency Services (EMS) team to share its command post and emergency services operations tactics, Dec. 2, 2016 at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

    The 6th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) is currently performing reconstruction to extend the lifespan of Hangar 2 here at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.
