Honoring heroes of the past: 6th Bomb Group visits MacDill
Members of the 6th Bomb Group (BG) Association visited MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, Sept. 23, 2016 for a base tour. The visit was a part of the group’s 30th annual reunion which started in Treasure Island, Florida.

MacDill uses Emergency Management exercise to maintain readiness
On Sept. 13, 2016, personnel from various 6th Air Mobility Wing (AMW) agencies around MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, participated in an Emergency Management Exercise. The exercise simulated a fuel spill that resulted from a vehicle accident.

MacDill’s golf ball had its final round
One of MacDill’s popular landmarks will soon be no more. “Turn left at the golf ball,” won’t be said after Sept. 21, 2016. That’s because the radome, which is a satellite covering affectionately referred to as the “golf ball” by base populous, began permanent deconstruction Sept. 12, 2016.

Airman prepares for deployment through Desert Defender training
Before deploying to their area of responsibility, military personnel must be trained to ensure they are mission capable and fully equipped to fulfill their duties as well as handle any situations that may arise.
